Fall cleaning is in full effect over here. Currently, that means a select couple of rooms are very clean and others, not so much. Mostly, because I decided that now was also a good time to paint and redecorate two of our most used rooms in the whole house. At the same time. Now that those projects are finally coming to a close, I can focus on finishing up my fall cleaning list in those rooms and finally be done. Yay!
While I was waiting for my project manager (Husband) to finish up in the other rooms, I was able to tackle a project that I have been meaning to do for a long time. Organizing all of the kids clothes they have grown out of. I have just been throwing the clothes into bins as they grew out of it. None of it was even close to organized. Every time I went looking for something it would just become a bigger mess. So, I went through it all and broke it down just by size. Previously, it was broken down by size and kid with multiple sizes in each bin. Which, made it harder to find things. I also made size labels for each bin and picked out more items to donate.
My advice for any kind of big overhaul cleaning would be to take your time. Set an end date and work on a little bit each day. Also, cleaning and organizing are two totally different moods. Focus on cleaning (and cleaning out if needed). Then, go through and organize.
Hope this helps you crush your fall cleaning list!
