Halloween was not my thing before I had kids. I don’t like scary movies, I always waited to the last minute to figure out a costume, and I went to a haunted house once when I was like 10, and I’m pretty sure I slept in my parent’s bed for a week after.
So, if your wondering how did I wind up with a six foot five animatronic grave digger in my formal living room for the month of October? #1. Same. #2. Kids.
My son loves Halloween. I honestly think he looks forward to it more than Christmas. He informed me of his Halloween costume choice for this year on November 1st 2019. He had his new “spookies” picked out at Home Depot in August.
Seeing how much he loves it and looks forward to Halloween makes me want to go all out with the decorations. I had originally planned on decorating our family room, the play room, and of course our front yard with our ghoulishly good looking new friends.
Nope. Both of my kid’s love the new decorations so much they are living inside for this year. So, we decided to decorate the living room instead. Which, I think worked out even better than what we had originally planned.
Also, a super big thanks goes out to my husband who bought step on pads to turn the decorations on (instead of the motion sensors) so that I don’t scare myself walking past them 40 times a day.
