We are gearing up for a Fourth of July party over here! I made some fun printables to use this week to help get me organized and ready to host! If you are also hosting for the 4th you can download them all below!
If it wasn’t already obvious, I love a theme. While these are totally unnecessary they look super cute. I started with just making a nicer looking To Do list and Menu. Mostly because I love a list. And because when it comes time to start prepping for the party I can tape them up in a spot in the Kitchen (usually on the window) so I can check it periodically. And so I don’t forget about anything.
Once I finished those I figured I would make some food cards. I like to use these to map out the buffet set up before I start bringing out the food. That way anyone helping me set up the food knows where to put it. Then after those were done I was like well now I need festive sheet for grill orders.
Is this a thing that other people do too? Like, go around a party and see how many people want a hot dog or a hamburger? Is this tacky? I don’t know . But, even if it is I’m going to keep doing it because if we didn’t my husband would make a zillion hotdogs and I don’t want to eat reheated hot dogs forever. (And food waste drives me crazy.)
Generally I wonder if a lot of the things I think are normal other people would think is weird. This hot dog/ hamburger voting system is top of the list right now for me though. Maybe there is a better way and I just don’t know about it. (If there is please tell me!)
Also, if you have a pool and a husband unwilling to invest in an outdoor bathroom situation you may want to download my pool sign which kindly remind guests to dry off before coming in the house.
Party prep is a lot of work and this is just the beginning of a very busy week. I do feel better going into this week with a plan in place and tools that help the party run smoother. I also already decorated! In the past I would put it off until the last second. But, this year I decided to invest in some actual decorations that I can keep and use each year instead of single use decorations from the dollar store. There might have also been a incident at a past fourth of July party in which the cheaper decorations melted onto our gutters and fence and left stripes of color on them for a real long time. After that we agreed no more outside decorations. (I’m gonna try balloons for outside this year though!)
Now that I have a plan it’s time to get to work! Let’s just keep our fingers crossed for good weather and that I don’t screw up any of the new recipes I want to try!
