Monster Mix

Movie night is a big deal in our house. It’s a tradition that my kids love and look forward to each week. Especially when we get to holiday specific movie season. And that kicks off with Halloween of course.

To make our family movie night extra special, sometimes I like to make a fun treat. This week we were watching one of our all time favorite Halloween movies, The Nightmare before Christmas.

I was having a little bit of a creative block about what to do for movie night snack and I was going to go classic (and easy) with Pillsbury Halloween sugar cookies. But, then I was wandering around the Target Halloween section and my sidekick (Rose) had her own suggestions of what we should be buying. My kids love a snack mix so, I thought why not make our own! Plus, I already had a super cute pumpkin container to put it in.

Here’s what we got for our Monster Mix!

Best part about this is that you can put in whatever you and your kids like! I picked some of my kids favorites to include and also learned that nobody likes candy corn. Other best part no measuring. This is a snack you measure with your heart. Except, use a bigger bowl to mix it than I did. And make sure to keep some peanut butter M&M’s to the side for yourself for all your hard work.

It also looks super cute and festive on the counter!

Most importantly, the kids loved it! And it was a great kick off to our Holiday movie season!

Try making your own Monster Mix with your little monsters and have a family movie night! Here are some of our favorites!
