As I previously mentioned my kids love Halloween. Like a lot. My son tells my husband 100 times per day that he loves building “spookies” with him. And my daughter has been carrying her basket around yelling “TRICK OR TREAT!” at us for at least 2 weeks. So, with this year being what it is (garbage) and with us deciding not to do trick or treating like we normally would, I thought we should have a little party so the kid’s could get in some extra Halloween fun.
I used decorations that I already had from around the house to make a little snack station with all of their favorites. (And what I didn’t already have I found at Dollar Tree or the dollar spot at Target.)
But, what they were most excited for was the games. We set up a pumpkin hunt in the backyard with these great mini pumpkins from Target. (They came with the prizes already in them!)
We also did a mummy wrap and a dissection station. The dissection station was super easy and really fun. To do this all you need is a bowl or small bucket, Jello, and little toys to pick out of it. The kids could use tongs or just use their hands. This whole activity costs maybe five dollars total and my son absolutely loved it and, bonus it kept him busy for while.
The fan fav game though was definitely the worm pie eating contest. All you need is whip cream and gummy worms. My son is still talking about winning this contest. He was so proud he got all of his worms out first!
Then we finished off our day with some pepperoni pizza and cobweb cupcakes!
It was a great day and the kids had so much fun we will probably make this something we do every year!
Hope everyone has a safe and happy Halloween!
