We are now in our second full week back at school and we have been super busy. Turns out when you spend the first 45 minutes after drop off everyday crying and then two hours after school trying to pull bits of information out of a five year old about his day you lose a lot of time. It’s been a hectic start to the school year. With Vincent off in Kindergarten it’s taken Rose and myself some time to get into our new routine.
Rose now prefers to start our mornings together by bullying me the whole way home from dropping off Vincent and pretending she is too cool to know me. (MOM HACK: Need a kid to slow down or walk with you? Tell them there is a bug on them. Works every time.) Then she demands second breakfast and some alone time.
Three days a week we are doing Pre-k 3 at home. I’ll share the schedule and planning templates I use below. The biggest difference between this year and last is that we switched to a monthly theme and letter, shape, color, and number of the week. You can download the dry erase board labels for each of these below as well.
Septembers theme is Fall! I had a lot of cute activities planned but, we haven’t gotten to many of them yet. We have been reviewing shapes, colors and numbers so far and using our busy binder.
One activity we did get to was a tree color match. It was super easy to set up. I just cut out some different colored trees from construction paper and got matching pom poms and let her sort them. She loved it and it kept her busy for a while!
We also did an apple stack challenge using fake apples and different size paper tubes.
I also have a shape printable we will be using this week that you can download here!
Use velcro stickers to adhere the shapes to the trees to use this printable over and over again!
More than anything though Rose looks forward to our Library trips. She loves getting to pick out new books. Here are our picks for our Fall theme!
If you want to see any other activities we hopefully get to this month make sure to follow on Instagram!
