This week was all about bugs and insects! I didn’t really decorate or buy anything special for this week. I was going to get them a party pack of fake bugs to play with but, I knew I would just be hurting myself.
They are still torturing me with fake spiders that they have a secret stash of from Halloween. Every so often they leave some around ( in super normal spider finding spots) and wait for me to find it. I’ll see one out of the corner of my eye on a shelf or on the floor of the laundry room and think its a real spider, and freak out. They think it’s hilarious. I’m just hoping they don’t give me a heart attack before 35.
Also, I don’t know about anybody else but I am ready for school to be over. (Three weeks left!) I am so burnt out at this point I am lucky if I remember to change the letter of the day and print out the worksheets. And because I am currently feeling like there is not enough coffee in the world to keep me going you are getting the short and not so sweet version of this week. It was meh. We got through it. It is more about our general bad attitudes this week and less about the activities because we had some good ones.
Here are the resources I used for this week:

The Alphabet fly swatter activity went over big with my kids. I like to think that they liked it because they love the Alphabet and not just because they got to hit something.
We also read some books! Here are the ones we liked and didn’t have any up close pictures of actual bugs.
That’s it for this week! And just remember, not every week is going to be perfect. This is something I struggle with constantly. Especially because this weekly theme business is something I imposed on myself. While its fun and and makes things a little more interesting I highly doubt my kids would even notice if we didn’t have a theme one week.
Give yourself some grace and know that you are still doing a great job! That’s the end of my pep talk, that I mostly needed myself.
See ya next week!
